We are looking for volunteers for PHS That’s Life Simulation. We would love to have community members participate in this fun activity with our students!
THAT'S LIFE

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Monday, April 25, 2022
Potlatch High School Gym
8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Come help us introduce healthy financial behaviors to our students… and have a lot of fun in the process. What you can expect as a volunteer:
- Your Role - You will serve as a vendor in this very interactive, hands-on learning simulation where the students will receive a random career, the money and education that goes with that career, and a family situation. They are asked to assume they are 26 and the money they receive must care for their entire virtual family for one month. They visit all of the vendors (no worries – training will be provided but your experience is going to play a part too ☺) – 20 expenses in total like housing, transportation, childcare, groceries, banking, and more.
- Time Commitment – We will be conducting two simulations from 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. We ask that you come to a training beginning at 8:15 a.m. to help you with the simulation. This helps you prepare for your role, allows you to ask questions and helps you settle into your booth before the onslaught of students. Other volunteers say this is “a necessary component of the simulation.” (I will bring treats and water ☺).
- Come prepared to have fun… and to encourage students towards healthy financial decisions. Past volunteers have commented on how much they have learned about the kids they work with or love and how much they have gained personally from the information in the simulation. Parents and teachers are encouraged to volunteer.
- Questions?? – For more information or to volunteer, contact Karen (208) 883-2241 or krichel@uidaho.edu.
