Welcome to Potlatch Elementary School
Potlatch School District 285 and Potlatch Elementary's Mission is to INSPIRE EVERY CHILD TO DISCOVER, LEARN, ACHIEVE, AND CARE.
Potlatch Elementary School is the only elementary school in District 285. Potlatch students eventually attend Potlach Jr./Sr. High School. Potlatch Elementary generally has approximately 245 students. We offer many additional supports to our students including special education and related services, literacy, accelerated programming, second language learning support, and clubs and activities. We have a very active parent community and Parent/Teacher Organization. We focus on Civil Behavior and 21st Century Learning. We have an excellent staff who put the needs of our students first. Our school goal is simple: student learning. As a staff, we recognize that there are many variables that have an impact on student learning. Annually, we highlight specific areas including, but not limited to: instruction, assessment, technology integration, service integration, communication, fostering relationships and social-emotional learning for continuous improvement.
MEET YOUR PRINCIPAL
Potlatch Elementary is my second home and I enjoy making it your child's second home as well. I believe in making every moment a teachable moment in school. I believe in educating children to become independent and life-long learners. I believe that children will make mistakes and that they need to learn from them. I believe that success is earned and our children can achieve whatever they believe they can with the right support and guidance. We have high expectations for our students and we will help them meet their goals.
Mr. John Haire
